This Virtual Guitar Tone Pot Loading Circuit duplicates the normal reduction in treble harmonics when a standard tone pot is set to maximum “10” brightness. Add this circuit if the removal of a tone pot (”no load”) causes an unwanted increase in treble, or if a ToneStyler’s true bypass (clockwise setting) sounds too bright.
To duplicate the loading of a typical six-string guitar’s tone pot, wire a 500kΩ resistor in series with a .022µF tone capacitor (#223), then wire these two parts in parallel between the hot signal and the ground.
Connect only as shown in the PDF linked below. DO NOT CONNECT to other circuit points, such as ANYWHERE “post-volume pot”, or to the output jack - this doesn’t work.
